Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The George & Dragon's warm atmosphere and traditional decor receive high praise from patrons. The spacious outdoor area makes a delightful setting for enjoying a pint or two on sunny days. Live music every weekend fills the pub with energy, inviting guests to dance or sing along. The food stands out too, particularly the Fish & Chips, lauded for both taste and value. Patrons rave about the weekly deals, like ‘2 Main Courses for £15’, making dining out budget-friendly. Friendly staff members contribute to a welcoming experience, ensuring customer satisfaction from the moment you walk in.

Most Disliked

While the experience is generally positive, some guests note that service can be slow during peak times, particularly on Saturdays. However, many agree the delicious food often makes up for this. The atmosphere on Sunday afternoons can feel a bit quieter, lacking the buzz found on weekends, which may not suit everyone. Some visitors report that certain tables, especially in busier areas, can be quite close together, limiting privacy. Additionally, as improvements are on the horizon, occasional noise from construction may be a concern.

Visited on a Friday at opening time. Really great food and made fresh. Very reasonably priced too for all the menu. The service is superb. I really like the Tudor style decor. There is also an upstairs but I did not venture up. Nice 80s and 90s music in the background which is subtle creating a lovely atmosphere. A fair few people inside with chatted. It appears there is a lot of entertainment throughout the week in the evenings. A nice little town pub. Free WiFi with no sign up and open to connect. Shame I am not from the area and just visiting.

First time visit! I was pleasantly surprised with my visit to The George and Dragon. With not knowing what to expect, I was recommended the Fish and Chips and it did not disappoint! With a special deal on offer of 2 Main Courses for £15, we ordered double Fish and Chips. Now this may be the cheapest F&Cs I’ve ever had but it was certainly one of the best! Service was rather slow and the atmosphere not too buzzing for a Sunday lunch but the food more than made up for it!

I came for a pint. I left in a committed relationship with a Caesar salad. Somewhere between that first crunch of the Romaine and that final Parmesan-laced whisper of garlic flavour, I experienced what I can only describe as a religious event. The George and Dragon in Chesham aren’t simply serving Caesar salad, they’re performing edible alchemy. The croutons? Golden, crisp, and clearly forged in the fires of Mount Delicious. The chicken? Tender enough to make me question every other life choice I’ve ever made. The dressing? A perfectly balanced, creamy slap to my taste buds. In short I would fight a bear to eat this again. Don’t walk, but glide, float, apparate, or whatever it takes to the George and dragon in chesham right now. But on a serious note, it was really good and highly recommend.

Great night lovely pub, and £3.50 a pint of 0.0 beer now that's how you do it. Pub down the road charges £5.80. I'll come to the George from now on long live the Heineken draft 0.0 machine.

During the week it is a normal pub serving normal food. Come Friday night the music starts. Come out and party. A really friendly crowd.

If you’re doing the Chorleywood to Chesham; and can wait it out for food, place is well worth it. Foods very good, lasagna is solid, decent prices as well! Thanks for having us
